Playlist: 06/21/08

Dear Listeners,

Thanks for tuning in, as always. Hope you enjoyed the programming. A number of callers wanted to know about the Motown set I played later in the show (The Undisputed Truth to Bobby Taylor). Most of the rarities I featured can be found on a two-volume compilation entitled Tamla-Motown Connoisseurs, compiled by UK DJ Richard Shearling. It’s a nice collection of some of the lesser-known tracks recorded at Motown.

The playlist follows the concert announcements.

Shawana Howard will most likely be hosting next week. For the month of July, she’ll also be taking over Night Train, our sister funk show on Tuesday nights/Wednesday mornings, 1 to 5 am.

Best,
